Make someone’s day: nominate them in our We are RCHT Annual Awards

Our We are RCHT Annual Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the incredible people who make a difference to patients, colleagues and our communities every day.

Whether it’s an individual who goes above and beyond, a team that consistently delivers outstanding care, or someone who makes work a better place to be, now is the time to recognise their contribution.

RCHT colleagues nominate individuals and teams for awards in the categories listed below by completing the nomination form. (This form is open to RCHT employees only.)

We’re also inviting members of the public to nominate their own unsung hero through our People’s Choice Award. Just complete the online form to nominate someone who has made a real difference to you.

Everyone nominated will receive a certificate of recognition. Four shortlisted finalists in each category will be invited to our We are RCHT Annual Awards presentation event in early 2027, which is supported by the RCHT Charity. (We are looking for sponsors to help us make this a very special event, if you would like to find out more, please email rcht.communication@nhs.net.)

Our We are RCHT Annual Awards categories

Rising Star Award
To celebrate those at the beginning of their career who are already making an outstanding impression and demonstrating future leadership potential.
Unsung Hero Award
To recognise individuals or teams whose essential contribution often happens behind the scenes, yet makes a significant difference to patient experience, safety, and wellbeing.
Enabling Outstanding Care (Corporate and Support Services)
To recognise individuals or teams working in corporate, operational, administrative, digital, estates, facilities, finance, HR, communications, governance, or other support services whose work makes an exceptional contribution to patient care, colleague experience, and organisational success.
Outstanding Care Award
To recognise individuals or teams who consistently deliver outstanding, compassionate, and person-centred care.
Outstanding Team Award
To recognise a team that consistently works together to deliver exceptional outcomes, demonstrating collaboration, shared purpose, and a commitment to improving care, services, or colleague experience.
Inclusion and Valued People Award
To celebrate those who create a culture where everyone feels respected, heard, included and supported to thrive, while actively promoting equality, diversity and belonging.
Partnering with Purpose Award
For an outstanding partnership across the health and care system supporting neighbourhood health and care closer to home.
Innovation and Transformation Award
To recognise those who lead measurable improvements through innovation, transformation, digital solutions or collaborative improvement work, benefiting patients, colleagues, services or financial sustainability.
Green Champion Award
Recognising an individual or team who has made an outstanding contribution to environmental sustainability at RCHT.
Lifetime Achievement Award
To honour individuals whose long-term dedication has shaped services, teams, or culture in a lasting and meaningful way.
Volunteer Award
For volunteers who make an outstanding contribution to patients, families, staff, services, or the wider community through their dedication, compassion, and commitment.
